Pragyan Rover

 Pragyan is a lunar rover that is part of Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3 missions by ISRO.

1.  It has a mass of 27 kg and can travel at a speed of 1 cm/s. 
2. It can communicate with the Vikram lander and the Earth through radio signals.
3.  It has two scientific instruments on board:

            the Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer (APXS) and 
            the Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscope (LIBS). 

These instruments can analyze the chemical composition of the lunar rocks and soil.

The first Pragyan rover was launched on July 22, 2019 as part of the Chandrayaan-2 mission. It was supposed to be deployed by the first Vikram lander, but it did not reach the lunar surface due to the lander’s crash.

The second Pragyan rover was launched on July 11, 2023 as part of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. It was successfully deployed by the second Vikram lander on September 4, 2023. It started to collect data and images from the lunar surface and send them back to Earth through the lander. It also performed some experiments, such as measuring the temperature and radiation levels of the Moon
.

The rover is expected to operate for about 14 Earth days, after which it will go into sleep mode due to lack of solar power. 

It will wake up again when the sunlight reaches it, around September 22, 2023. ISRO hopes to establish contact with both Pragyan rovers during this period.

Pragyan एक चंद्र रोवर है जो ISRO के चंद्रयान-2 और चंद्रयान-3 मिशन का हिस्सा है।

•  इसका वजन 27 किलो है और
•  यह 1 सेमी/सेकंड की गति से चल सकता है। 
• यह विक्रम लैंडर और पृथ्वी के साथ रेडियो सिग्नल के माध्यम से संचार कर सकता है।
•  इसमें दो वैज्ञानिक उपकरण हैं: अल्फा पार्टिकल एक्स-रे स्पेक्ट्रोमीटर (APXS) और 
• लेजर-प्रेरित ब्रेकडाउन स्पेक्ट्रोस्कोप (LIBS)। 
• ये उपकरण चंद्रमा की चट्टानों और मिट्टी के रासायनिक संरचना का विश्लेषण कर सकते हैं।

पहला Pragyan rover 22 जुलाई 2019 को चंद्रयान-2 मिशन के हिस्से के रूप में प्रक्षेपित किया गया था। इसे पहले Vikram lander के द्वारा प्रसारित किया जाना था, परन्तु lander के हादसे के कारण, Pragyan rover लुनर सतह पर नहीं पहुंच पाया।

दूसरा Pragyan rover 11 July 2023 को Chandrayaan-3 मिशन के हिस्से के रूप में प्रक्षेपित किया गया.

 4 September 2023 को, Pragyan rover सफलतापूर्वक Vikram lander के माध्यम से प्रसारित हुआ.

•  प्रज्ञान रोवर के लगभग 14 पृथ्वी दिनों तक संचालित होने की उम्मीद है,
• जिसके बाद सौर ऊर्जा की कमी के कारण यह स्लीप मोड में चला जाएगा।

 22 सितंबर, 2023 के आसपास जब सूर्य की रोशनी इस पर पहुंचेगी तो यह फिर से जाग जाएगा। इसरो को उम्मीद है कि इस अवधि के दौरान दोनों प्रज्ञान रोवर्स के साथ संपर्क स्थापित हो जाएगा।
