1. "जी20" का तात्पर्य बीस लोगों के समूह से है।
2.  यह एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय मंच है जिसमें 19 अलग-अलग देश और यूरोपीय संघ शामिल हैं।
3.  G20 की स्थापना अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आर्थिक सहयोग और निर्णय लेने को बढ़ावा देने के लिए की गई थी।
4.  G20 के सदस्य देश दुनिया के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों की प्रमुख अर्थव्यवस्थाएँ हैं।
5. दुनिया के 20 अग्रणी देशों ने 1999 में एशियाई वित्तीय संकट के बाद इस समझ के साथ एक आर्थिक समूह का गठन किया कि ऐसे संकटों को अब किसी देश की सीमाओं के भीतर नहीं रोका जा सकता है और इसके लिए बेहतर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आर्थिक सहयोग की आवश्यकता है।
6. यह ब्लॉक वर्तमान में वैश्विक सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (जीडीपी) का 80 प्रतिशत, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय व्यापार का 75 प्रतिशत और विश्व जनसंख्या का लगभग दो-तिहाई हिस्सा है

G20 वार्षिक शिखर सम्मेलन आयोजित करता है जहां इन देशों के नेता विभिन्न वैश्विक आर्थिक और वित्तीय मुद्दों पर चर्चा और समन्वय करने के लिए एक साथ आते हैं। इन चर्चाओं में व्यापार, जलवायु परिवर्तन, सतत विकास, वित्तीय विनियमन और बहुत कुछ सहित कई विषयों को शामिल किया गया है।
